Hey Joel,
Reading through your blog. It seems like there is less time for that with family visiting, work demands growing, and a 6 month old that keeps us hopping now that she is crawling. I read about your bouts with cultural adjustment, and had to say I can somewhat relate to what you said about it being a cycle and process. There are times where you wonder if you\'ll ever get into the minds of the locals to see what makes them tick, the stuff they value. There are other times where that is the furthest thing from my mind because I am just not wanting to relate to certain aspects of the culture. Yes culture, that nebulous entity that your teachers drill into your head of its importance. Yet the true understanding of it seems so distant and unatainable.

Ps, have you been listening to any NHL playoffs. Reminds me of the good times at had at your place there in that dorm room with big screen showings and all. At least we still have 1 Canadian team alive. Pray you all are fine. Hang in there through the adjustments and language learning. It will come.
