		<description>I asked my Chinese roommate - for 骑马找马 his explanation was along the lines of your guess - not realising you have the thing you seek, for example looking in your left pocket, right pocket, bag for your key before realising it&#039;s in your hand. Pointless looking for something you already have.
He also said there is 骑驴找马 which is more like your original thought - he gave the explanation of working any old job whilst waiting for a better one. To temporarily settle for second best.
